Chébé powder is the haircare secret of an African ethnic group in Chad known to have very long naturally coarse hair that famously goes passed their rear ends. They cover their hair in a home-made mixture that keeps their hair super moisturised and lubricated which is the reason given for why they say their hair never breaks; even from childhood. This product is ideal for those who would like to grow their hair, combat hair loss due to breakage and nourish their hair. This product is authentic and imported from Chad directly from Miss Sahel.

Some people may initially think that their hair length is due to genetics, after inquiring on the subject the women said that it was most definitely NOT due to genetics since they do not apply chébé powder mixture to their bangs which, in turn, stay short. However, the parts of the hair which they do use the powder mixture on in their routine doesn't break and grows very long and strong. TRADITIONAL DIRECTIONS

This is how this product is traditionally used in Chad:

Take 100 g of your favourite hair treatment, conditioner or hair cream, mix with 100g of oil of your choice and add a teaspoon of mixed chébé powder. The first step is to get the hair wet using regular water and alternate between the hair grease mix that you just made and the chébé powder mix until the hair is fully saturated. They then re-braid the hair and once that braid is done wet it again with water. They repeat that routine every 3 to 5 days. Do not put on the scalp.

ALTERNATIVE DIRECTIONS

If you do not wish to leave this product in the hair for days but still wish to do a super moisturising, fortifying anti-hair loss growth treatment you can use this as a hair mask instead:

Mix and apply as above (adjust quantities if this is too much or too little to saturate your hair). Leave on your hair for at least two hours. The longer the better. To remove, shampoo twice and condition. Sellers note: I have fine blonde hair prone to breakage. I have been doing this treatment, covering with a shower cap and leaving on all day when not going out. You could also apply and leave in all night or just a couple of hours if that is all the time you have. Ideally you would do this 2-3 times a week. This is an AMAZING treatment to strengthen the hair, minimise breakage and aid in moisture and length retention. Another option is to add a little Chebe powder to your favourite leave-in conditioner, Shea Butter or any hair oil and use this as a leave in moisturiser regularly. If you only use a little Chebe you can get away with leaving this in and not washing it out.

TIPS:  You can use any of your favourite oils. Oils such as Jamaican Black Castor Oil and Black Seed Oil are great for hair growth (please see our store). Sellers Note: When doing this treatment I apply Jamaican Black Castor Oil or Black Seed Oil to my roots first and then the Chebe mixture to the rest of my hair. This way you are treating hair growth from the roots as well as fortifying your ends to protect against breakage. This is the ultimate hair growth/ anti-breakage treatment. If you have hair that needs a boost growing but also easily breaks and thins out as it does grow, this would be an ideal treatment. Please see our store for these oils and a variety of other options. Lighter alternatives to mix in with Chebe powder are Fractionated Coconut oil, Apricot Kernel Oil, Sweet Almond Oil….or any other hair suitable oil of your choice. Olive Oil also works well. Directions

This oil can be used for wash and go, in dry hair to smooth flyaways and add shine or as a prepoo or hot oil treatment.

Apply a small amount to the hair regularly. A little goes a long way. If using a small amount you can leave this product in. It adds a glorious shine. Style as usual.

Alternatively, apply more generously as a pre-poo treatment, hot oil treatment or leave in as a deep treatment for several hours or overnight. Use 2-3 times a week for best results. Individual results may vary.

This product is designed to be used on the hair, and not the scalp. It maintains growth by keeping the hair moisturised and in good condition. It is recommended that you do not apply Chebe to the scalp, therefore we need to advise that scalp application be avoided. Please check out our store for scalp oils that pair well with this product.

Shake well before use. While this oil is relatively free of particles, there still may be some settling of fine sediment to the bottom. Shake well before use.
