TOPICAL PRODUCTS SUCH AS SKINCARE AND HAIRCARE

For products that are used topical (please refer to suggested use or directions), we always recommend performing a small patch test to ensure you have no allergies or intolerances to the product.

Patch testing for irritation/ allergic reactions

To do a patch test prior to trying a new skin care or hair care product, simply apply a small amount of the product to a small area of your skin that is  easily covered. There should be no other products on the skin so that you can properly test this product. Wait around 48 hours to see if you have a reaction or leave the product on the patch of skin for as long as it would normally be on the skin. If a person is testing a product that they would usually wash off, such as a soap, they should keep the patch on for 5 minutes or as long as the instructions advise. If you react to the product, they should wash it off as soon as possible, discontinue use and seek medical attention. Please see below for more detailed instructions on performing a patch test.

If you have existing allergies or concerns, please consult with your medical practitioner prior to use.

How to Perform a Patch Test

Prior to introducing any new products into your skincare or haircare routine, we recommend the first step is to perform a patch test. This will help you identify any signs of a reaction such as redness, itching, burning or rashes. If you have any health concerns or allergies, please always consult your doctor prior to testing.

STEPS- How to Perform a Patch Test

- Apply a small amount of the product to a clean, discreet patch of skin. Places such as behind your ears, under your jaw, the side of you neck, inside of the arm or bend of the elbow are good places to test as they can be easily covered and kept dry. There should be no other products on the skin so that you can properly test the product.

- Keep the area dry and do not use any other products on or around the area you are testing.

- Wait up to 48 hours and look at the area for any signs of irritation such as redness, swelling or rashes.

- If irritation occurs thoroughly wash the product off and discontinue use. Consult your doctor.

- If no irritation occurs, read the label and product information and follow the instructions to incorporate the product into your skincare or haircare regime.

Our patch testing guide is recommended to determine initial irritation reactions to skincare or haircare products. We cannot guarantee similar results when applied to other areas of the body or after prolonged use. Please consult with your doctor should you have any questions or concerns.

Our guidance does not account for any underlying health conditions and should not be used to diagnose conditions such as hypersensitivity or allergic contact dermatitis.

Should you be concerned about starting a new product or any conditions, consult a dermatologist prior to use.

Do not use the product at all if you are allergic to any of the ingredients or have had previous reactions to any of the ingredients.

The above information is for general information purposes only and is not medical advice.

Please consult your doctor prior to using any new product if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have any allergies, are on medication or have any underlying health conditions.
