BONUS SOAP DISH INCLUDED: For correct storage you will receive a wooden handmade soap dish with every purchase. African Black soap should not be stored sitting in water as it will dissolve and not last as long. It is recommended you cut bars as you need them from the 1 pound block. Then the bar that you are using should be stored after use own the wooden soap dish as the grates help to allow the soap to dry between use. The soap dish also helps to keep the soap and countertops free of residue . The soap dish will allow you to easily keep your soap dry due to the ample drainage function. The soap will dry quickly and easily and this will prolong the life of each bar of soap.

This AMAZING African Black Soap is made from the ash of locally harvested plants and barks such a plantain, cocoa pods, palm tree leaves, and shea tree bark. Many years of use by people around the world has proven it to be an amazing natural alternative for those struggling with troubled skin.
INGREDIENTS:
Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, Raw Cocoa Pods, Unrefined Palm Kernel Oil, Plantain Skin Ashes, Unrefined Shea butter, Purified Water and Natural Vitamin E.
How is it made?
First the leaves and bark are sun-dried and then roasted in a kettle or pot at an even, constant temperature, which is important to ensure colour, texture and smell. Then water and various oils - palm oil, coconut oil, palm kernel oil (including shea butter and cocoa pod powder) - are added to the mixture and stirred for at least a day. After that, the "soap" is left to set for two weeks to cure. Different tribes and communities in Africa have adopted their own specific blend of oils and cooking techniques, which can be seen in the different colour variations among black soap.
What is it good for?
African Black Soap has been used for a long time to treat troubled skin. It's good for fine wrinkles, dark spots, eczema, eczema,, and clearing blemishes, acne, and rashes. It is also used as a light exfoliator. The soap can also be used on your hair, to treat scalp irritations. The plantain skins give the soap Vitamin A & E, and iron. Because the soap has the highest shea butter content of any soap, it also offers some UV protection. The soap is also good for sensitive skin, meaning its a good option for babies or the elderly.

As with any new product, it is recommended you do a small patch test first to ensure you have no allergies or reactions. Please consult a medical professional and discontinue use if any reactions occur or you have any concerns at all.
RECOMMENDED STORAGE:
African Black Soap absorbs water, therefore please don’t let it sit in a puddle of water after use. Keep it dry to keep it from dissolving. Place the bar on the wooden soap dish with slats (or similar soap dish with drainage) to allow the soap to drain in between use. Ideally just cut/ break off chunks that you are using and keep them on your soap dish with slats, keeping the rest in an airtight container, plastic wrap, ziplock bag, the resealable pouch it comes in or similar in a cool dry storage area.
Please note that the colour/texture size of this product can vary slightly between batches. Shape of the bar may vary. This product is handmade traditionally in Africa and how hard/soft/ dark the soap is will vary between batches. This product is for external use.
CAUTIONS:
African Black Soap may contain pieces or bark or the other natural ingredients. To take care rub onto a wash cloth or loofah and then apply to the skin, or take due care not to scratch the skin should any of the natural pieces of bark be sharp. This is generally not very common, however is possible with hand made African Black Soap. Use caution if you rub the bar of soap directly on the skin or rub soap onto a wash cloth or sponge and then rub onto the skin. This is characteristic of unrefined natural traditional African Black Soap.
Do a patch test and wait 24 hours to ensure you are not allergic to any of the ingredients. This is recommended with any new skin care product prior to application on larger areas to ensure you do not have any allergies or reactions. If you have a nut or any severe allergies please consult your doctor prior to use.
Consult your dermatologist if you develop a rash or dermatitis after using the product. If you are allergic to latex, you may suffer from latex-fruit syndrome and develop a reaction to the plantain ash in black soap, as well as palm and coconut oils. Also, be aware of the possible presence of high levels of cocoa pods, which make the soap ash, if you have a chocolate allergy or are sensitive to caffeine. It is recommended you consult with your doctor if you have any known allergies. As with any new product, a small patch test should be performed prior to using this product on larger areas. Please consult your medical practitioner with any concerns.
