Pickle Juice- Scientifically proven to stop muscle cramps
100% All-Natural, USDA Organic and Scientifically Proven to Stop Muscle Cramps
Originally developed in 2001 with the dual purpose of replenishing electrolytes lost during strenuous exercise and addressing muscle cramps, the Pickle Juice company has evolved to become one of “the best kept secrets” in the athletic trainer and elite athlete communities. The formula was tested and revised in the marketplace for the better part of a decade in order to develop the most effective formula possible to address the neurological elements that directly lead to muscle cramping as well as replenishing electrolytes that contribute to hydration. Since then, Pickle Juice has been the subject of scientific studies which support and prove the formulas ability to to treat the cause of Muscle cramping and not just the painful symptoms. More and more elite athletes, sporting clubs, sports/codes and now ordinary people with Cramping issues are discovering this “little secret” to Cramp relief.
STOPS CRAMPS INSTANTLY
Pickle Juice is a 100% natural, purpose built isotonic beverage designed specifically to stop muscle cramps and prevent them from returning. Taking Pickle Juice can stop muscle cramps in its tracks within 15-20 seconds.
Pickle Juice works by attacking the cause and not the symptoms of cramping. Researchers have found that neural receptors located at the back of the throat send the cramp message from the brain to the muscles. When the active ingredient in Pickle Juice comes into contact with these receptors it switches off this cramp message and the spasm will cease almost instantaneously.
KEEPS YOU HYDRATED
If you are exercising hard, exercising for longer than an hour at a time, or exercising in hot climates, drinking something with sodium and potassium can help you get hydrated faster. Sodium and potassium is an electrolyte that you lose when you sweat and Pickle Juice has 10 times the amount of electrolytes than most other sports drinks.
After a sweaty or lengthy exercise session, sipping some Pickle Juice can help your body recover to its normal electrolyte levels more quickly.
RELIEVES NIGHT OR NOCTURNAL CRAMPS
Pickle Juice 240ml Regular Strength bottles are proven to provide relief to those who experience nocturnal or night cramps. Slowly ingesting Pickle Juice's 240ml bottles before you go sleep is a cost effective way to rid your night cramps.
IMPROVES THE HEALTH OF YOUR STOMACH
Pickle Juice can help your boost your stomach's immunity by encouraging the growth and healthy balance of good bacteria and flora. Also, if you are trying to lose weight, you do not want to be consuming high calorie sports drinks to stay hydrated. Pickle Juice is a sugar free and calories free alternative to keep you hydrated when it matters most.
Pickle Juice has significant amounts of vitamins C and E which are two key antioxidants. Antioxidants help shield your body from damaging molecules called free radicals. Vitamins C and E also help boost your immune system function, among other roles they play in your body.

How does it work?
Researchers have found there are neural receptors located at the back of the throat which send the cramp message to the muscles. When the active ingredient in Pickle Juice (the vinegar base) comes into contact with these receptors it switches off the cramp message and the spasm will cease almost instantaneously.
This is based on a study by Professor Martin Schwellnus, Professor of Sport and Exercise Medicine at the University of Pretoria.
A study by Dr Kevin Miller at the Central Michigan University also supports the argument that pickle juice can help alleviate muscle cramps.

PICKLE JUICE FAQS
Is Pickle Juice the same as pickle brine?
No. Whilst the base of both pickle brine and Pickle Juice is vinegar, that is where the similarity ends. Pickle brine contains sugar, protein and other nasty items which are not helpful for athletes. It’s rough and raw. Pickle Juice is USDA certified organic and has been strenuously tested since 2001.
So, what is Pickle Juice?
Pickle Juice is a 100% natural, purpose built isotonic sports drink. It has a vinegar base mixed with triple filtered water and contains no sugar, no caffeine and has added vitamins C and E plus zinc, potassium and sodium.
Pickle Juice is smooth and easy to drink and has no nasties like straight pickle brine and contains 10 times more electrolytes than most other sports drinks.
What exactly is in Pickle Juice?
Always seek a doctor’s advice if you are unsure whether or not Pickle Juice may be detrimental to your health.

So if there are no pickles in it, why does it taste like there are?
Pickle Juice is a 100% natural and USDA certified organic product. The flavour comes from the addition of 100% natural dill oil. This is what gives it the pickle taste.
When do I take Pickle Juice? When I cramp or before?
Pickle Juice will both prevent cramping or act as a cure to stop the cramp once it has occurred. Based on 10ml per 10kg of body weight Pickle Juice taken before an event will prevent cramping episodes for between 50 to 60 mins depending on levels of exertion. For example, if a footballer usually cramps in the last quarter he should consume Pickle Juice at three-quarter time. This will allow him to run out the game, cramp free. Just ask Dan Menzel from the Geelong Cats!
What if I am cramping?
Take the Pickle Juice and the cramp will release within 15 to 20 seconds; cramps disappear almost immediately and not return. Continued exercise will be cramp free for at least the next 50 to 60 minutes.
How does Pickle Juice work?
Pickle Juice works by attacking the cause and not the symptoms of cramping. Researchers have found there are neural receptors located at the back of the throat which send the cramp message to the muscles. When the active ingredient in Pickle Juice (the vinegar base) comes into contact with these receptors it switches off the cramp message and the spasm will cease almost instantaneously.
Is there any evidence to support this?
Apart from the overwhelming endorsement we have received from professional athletes and our customers world wide, there is a large body of scientific research to support our claims. Most notable are the following studies:
Dr Kevin Miller: Associate Professor in Athletic Training at Central Michigan University.
The miller study found that it was Pickle Juice and not deionized water, that inhibits electrically induced muscle cramps in hypohydrated humans. This effect could not be explained by rapid restoration of body fluids or electrolytes alone.
Professor Martin Schwellnus: Professor of Sport and Exercise Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences at University of Pretoria.
Dr Schwellnus found transient receptor potential (TRP) antagonists (e.g. chemical compounds in Pickle Juice) may have a role in the treatment of acute exercise induced muscle cramping and that stimulation of oral/oesophageal TRP channels may be the mechanism for the observed reduction in laboratory induced muscle cramps (by electrical stimulation) by Pickle Juice.
Do I have to swallow the Pickle Juice for it to be effective?
No. As the research shows, provided the liquid comes into contact with the neural receptors at the back of the throat the cramp message will switch off. However, as Pickle Juice is also high in electrolytes, gargling only and not swallowing will not provide the rehydration benefits Pickle Juice also provides. Hydration/rehydration is also a component of cramp management.
I have a 240ml bottle. Do I need to drink it all to fix the cramp?
No. A 240ml bottle will provide 3 to 4 drinks. As a general guide, 60 to 80ml per drink will be sufficient to fix your muscle cramp. It is shelf stable and does not require refrigeration. This product is perfect for those who suffer from night cramps or cramp from mild exertion.
Why would I use the 75ml extra strength Pickle Juice shot?
The Pickle Juice 75ml shot is an extra strength portion controlled version more suited for those exercising at a higher intensity. Elite athletes will drink the entire 75ml.
Is it safe for elite athletes to take?
Pickle Juice is classified as a food product where many sport dieticians recommend it to elite sporting clubs and codes.
What sporting clubs/codes are using Pickle Juice?
Pickle Juice has been adopted for use by the following elite sporting organisations:
- Cricket Australia
- AFL clubs
- NRL clubs
- Australian Wallabies
- A-League soccer clubs
- Australian hockey roos
- Women’s Commonwealth games cycling team
Is Pickle Juice just a new fad product?
No. Pickle Juice and its benefits have been understood for years by elite athletes, especially in the USA. We are just now taking this “secret ingredient” to the broader market of weekend warriors and to those who suffer the agonising inconvenience of muscle cramps.
How can I easily describe Pickle Juice to someone?
Pickle Juice is a 100% natural, purpose built, isotonic beverage which contains 10 times more electrolytes than other sports drinks. It does not contain any sugar or caffeine. It is GMO free and is certified kosher and organic and it stops muscle cramps™. It just works!
